WINTERM™ WARRANTY REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS
Wyse Winterm
Thin Clients come with the standard one year manufacturer’s
warranty. Some models are sold with Wyse’s two-year Buyer
Protection Plan which extends the one-year warranty another two
years to provide a total of three years of protection as long as
the product is registered on the Wyse website, www.wyse.com, within
90 days of purchase.
Here
are the instructions to register Winterm units for the two-year
Buyer Protection plan:
- On the Customer
Support Online Registration main page, please click on “Winterm™
1000, 5000, 3000, 8000 or 9000 Series Thin Clients”
or go directly to http://www.wyse.com/registration/.
You will get a “Login” box.
- If you have
already created an account, please enter your username and password
in the “Login” box.
- If you do
not already have an account set up, please click on “Create
New Customer” at the bottom of the Log In box and follow
these instructions:
- You must
fill in all of the required fields (denoted by **) under “New
Contact”:
- Company
Name: The name of the company that owns the product.
- First
Name: First name of the contact person at the above company.
- Last
Name: Last name of the contact person at the above company.
- Email
Address: Email address of the contact person.
- Phone:
Phone number of the contact person.
- Username:
This can be any amount of alpha-numeric characters.
- Password:
This must be at least four (4) alpha-numeric characters and
will be case-sensitive.
- Confirm
Password: Please retype the password you have chosen.
- On the “Mailing
Address” screen, please pick the United States or International
Address form, depending on your location, and fill in the required
fields, denoted by ** after the field name.
- You must
click on “Save” when you are finished entering all
of your information in order to finish creating your account.
- Once you
have created and/or logged in to your account, please click on
“Your Account”.
- Please click
on “Warranty Registration” under “Wyse.com Applications”.
- Please click
on the “New” box to register your units. You will
then be taken to the “Winterm Product Registration”
page.
- Please enter
the “Purchase Date” for the units that you are registering.
Please enter it in this format: mm/dd/yyyy, i.e. 07/01/2003.
- Please select
the correct “Default Unit Location”.
- In the “Serial
Numbers” box, please list all the serial numbers you wish
to register horizontally, with only commas, no spaces in between
them.
- Please do
NOT use any leading “S”s. No Wyse serial numbers begin
with “S”, they all begin with numbers. The serial
numbers can be cut and pasted into the box from a spreadsheet
or word document or comma delimited file.
- If you wish
to receive a Wyse Rapport Workgroup license for each valid serial
number you are registering, you must check the box near the bottom
of the page (under the large box in which you have listed the
serial numbers to be registered) that says “Please check
this box to receive a Wyse Rapport Workgroup license for each
valid serial number entered.”
- Once you
have listed all of the serial numbers, please click on “Next”.
- You will
then be taken to the “Product Registration Confirmation”
page.
- If the message
“already registered” in red is next to the serial
number you have just tried to register, please verify the serial
number is correct. Then check the warranty registration list under
“Your Account” to make sure you have not already registered
this unit. If the serial number does not show up in the warranty
registration list under “Your Account”, please email
fieldsupport@wyse.com.
- If you get
a message that the serial number is “invalid”, please
verify that the serial number has 11-digits and does not start
with “S”. If the serial number does have 11-digits
and does not start with “S” please email fieldsupport@wyse.com
- If your registration
has been successful, there will be a green checkmark in the “status”
column of the confirmation.
- Please click
on “Finish”.
- After your
warranty registration has been successful and you’ve clicked
on “Finish”, you will get the “Warranty Registration
List” screen with the following:
- The number
of products registered successfully.
- The number
of Rapport Saleskeys requested successfully.
- A “Summary
Report” showing the serial number, purchase date and
unit location of the entire product registrations we have
on file for you. The summary will also show the name of the
person who registered the units.
Your warranty
registration is now complete. If you would like to register more
products, please click on the "new" button under the “Summary
Report”. To view information about an existing product click
the appropriate product's link in the “Summary Report”.
