Wyse Technology Extends Thin-Computing Leadership With New Linux Solutions

More Than 10,000 LinuxWorld Attendees Will Register on Wyse Thin Clients for Second Consecutive Year

LINUXWORLD EXPO, BOSTON – 2006/04/04 - Wyse Technology, the global leader in thin computing, today announced Wyse Linux 6.3, the latest release of the Wyse Linux V6 products. The product will be offered as a free software upgrade for current Wyse customers of the S50, V50, and 5150 SE thin clients.

Wyse Linux 6.3 offers support for 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN adapters and enterprise-class WPA-2 and 802.1x wireless authentication, improved SmartCard compatibility, enhanced authentication and security, and double-byte Asian language support. This latest release is built on the rich feature set of Wyse Linux V6 that includes support for server-managed applications through Citrix MetaFrame and Microsoft(R) Windows(R) Terminal Server Edition, VPN security, Firefox web browser, local terminal emulation, and support for local printers and USB removable drives. Wyse Linux 6.3 will be demonstrated at the Wyse booth, # 1034, at LinuxWorld. In addition, Linux-based Wyse thin clients will be used to register all attendees at the event.
